Lord John Gray

1. Name. ¹¹³ Previous name: John Gray of Benvie. Name and designation recorded in Aberdeen in 1670. Received a charter of lands of Benvie from James, Earl of Panmure in 1713 and began to build the house of Gray at Nethertoun in 1714. it took two years to build.

John married Marjorie Gray Mistress of Gray, daughter of Lord Patrick Gray of Fowlis and Barbara Murray. (Marjorie Gray Mistress of Gray was born about 1666 and died soon after 14 May 1697.)
